Mathew Knowles (1979-2011) – Tina Knowles began dating record executive, talent manager, and businessman, Mathew Knowles in January 1979, and the couple got married on January 5, 1980, in Galveston, Texas, United States. They were blessed with their first child, a daughter named Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, on September 4, 1981. When she was around 19 years old, Tina Knowles began her career pursuits by shifting to California to work as a makeup artist for Shiseido, a Japanese multinational personal care company. Later, she had to move back to her parents when they fell ill.

She has worked as a choreographer for UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. Later, she served as a beautician until 1990 as that was the year when she opened a salon named Headliners in Houston, Texas.

She became very popular with her salon which became one of the most successful hair businesses in Houston.

When Beyoncé was young and the money was limited, Tina Knowles used to make outfits for her as well as her groupmates which they wore during several events and performances.

As the girl group Destiny’s Child commenced on their path to success and fame, she worked as the costume designer for the group.

In her book, Destiny’s Style: Bootylicious Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Secrets From Destiny’s Child, which was published via HarperCollins in 2002, she has talked about the manner in which fashion affected the success of Destiny’s Child.

In 2004, Tina Knowles launched the clothing line named “House of Deréon” alongside her daughter, Beyoncé. The name of the label was inspired by the name of Tina’s mother, Agnes Deréon.
