Sally Field Disses Spider-Man Role

Sally Field may be a two time Oscar winner…but that does not mean she enjoyed all her roles.

When speaking on “The Howard Stern Show” as part of a promotional tour for an upcoming film, Field was asked about her role in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.

“Not especially my kind of movie, but my friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film.”

Here we have a clip of Sally as Aunt May from the first Spidey film:

Field continued stating “Not a great deal of thought” had to go into playing the role, as well as, “It’s really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put ten pounds of sh*t in a five-pound bag.”

SHOTS FIRED!! Ouch, Sally.

Howard Stern continued to probe her saying “When they say to you, play Aunt May, it’s not the Aunt May movie, it’s Spider-Man’s movie, Spider-Man’s all CGI, special effects, the guy’s wearing a mask … you come in and you prop up Spider-Man once in awhile. It’s like playing the wife at home.” “Exactly” Field exclaimed.

Now with a new Spider-Man reboot taking place, it had been previously announced that actress Marisa Tomei will be playing Aunt May. Here’s hoping Tomei does not find the role as utterly repulsing as Field did. Rumors have it, we will see Aunt May in Captain America: Civil War, out this May.
