Panic! At The Disco: A Year In Review

2018 has been a massive year for many in the music industry including Panic! At The Disco. With the release of many music videos, their sixth studio album, a world tour and more, here at CelebMix we decided to take a look back over some of Panic! At The Disco’s highlights.

In March 2018 it was announced that Nicole Row would replace Dallon Weekes as a touring member. The first show played by Nicole was a surprise show in Cleveland only announced the day before the show. 

Later that same month, the band released “Say Amen (Saturday Night)”- the lead single from their sixth studio album “Pray for the Wicked”, “(Fuck A) Silver Lining” as well as the music video for “Say Amen”. The dramatic action packed video left fans excited for what else was to come.

In May the third song from Pray for the Wicked, “High Hopes”, was released.

In June the band announced a human rights foundation called “Highest Hopes” and revealed they were donating $1 from every US tour ticket sale. Panic! has always been open to been a safe loving environment for everyone and “Highest Hopes” confirms that, with Brendon saying it was “created to support the efforts of non-profit organizations that lead, develop and advocate support for human rights.”

Panic! opened Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final with an impressive performance of “High Hopes” surrounded by the water fountains of the Bellagio.

The video for “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” was released on the 21st June featuring uplifting lyrics and a puppet of Brendon. It was a fun video which proved to be popular.

Pray for the Wicked, their sixth studio album, was released on 22nd June, which made it to #1 on the Billboard 200.

In July they started the Pray For The Wicked world tour in Minneapolis which has currently been to 7 countries with more announced for 2019.

August saw Panic! head to the UK to play Leeds and Reading Festival, drawing massive crowds for their sets. They used huge posters and an ice cream truck across the sites to announce details of the UK leg of the Pray for the Wicked tour in March 2019.

On August 27, 2018, the band dropped the music video for the single “High Hopes” which gave the band their first #1 single on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart.

In October at the American Music Awards of 2018, Panic! won Favourite Artist – Alternative Rock and paid tribute to Queen which was broadcast live from Sydney, Australia. Brendon’s vocals worked brilliantly on the cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

In November they gained two more awards: one at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Alternative Act, and Artist of the Year in the Rock Sound awards.

Also in November, The Greatest Showman Reimagined was released including a cover of “The Greatest Show” from Panic! At the Disco. Anything Brendon lends his vocals to is amazing and this is no exception!

2018 has certainly been a good year for Panic! At The Disco. 2019 sees the continuation of the Pray for the Wicked world tour and here at CelebMix we can’t wait to see what else is in store.
