John Legend to release deluxe edition of 'A Legendary Christmas'

Publish date: 2024-06-23

Last year, John Legend delighted us with his very first Christmas album, A Legendary Christmas. Now, the ‘All of Me’ hitmaker is gearing up to spread some festive cheer once more with a deluxe edition of the album.

Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition will arrive this Friday (November 8). The 18-track extravaganza includes new original recordings of four new holiday classics including ‘This Christmas’, ‘My Favorite Things’ and ‘Christmas in New Orleans’.

The album will also include a new reimagined version of ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ featuring Kelly Clarkson. Featuring new lyrics written by John and comedian Natasha Rothwell, writer and supervising producer of the hit HBO series Insecure, the song has been given a modern update whilst removing the previously controversial lyrics.

The new version features lyrics including:

I really can’t stay (BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE)
I’ve gotta go away (I CAN CALL YOU A RIDE.)
This evening has been (SO GLAD THAT YOU DROPPED IN)
So very nice (TIME SPENT WITH YOU IS PARADISE)
My mother will start to worry (I’LL CALL A CAR AND TELL ‘EM TO HURRY)
