Former television and radio sportscaster Eddie Doucette is now the president of Doucette Promotions Inc., which he founded in 1989. Doucette was the first radio play-by-play voice of the Milwaukee Bucks, with whom he worked for 16 years as a broadcaster on WTMJ. In addition to calling games for various other NBA teams (including the Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Portland Trail Blazers), Major League Baseball teams (including the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Milwaukee Brewers), he has worked in a variety of other sports, including NFL football, college football, college basketball, PGA Tour golf, boxing, and track and field events. He has also worked in the NFL, college Doug Doucette and Jon McGlocklin co-founded the MACC Fund in 1976, after the diagnosis of Brett, Doucette’s two-year-old son, with cancer in 1975. As honorary vice-president of the fund, he continues to serve the organisation today. He has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. His home is in Poway, California, where he lives with his wife, Karen. Brett and Cory, their two adult boys, are the couple’s only children. It has been revealed that Doucette will win the Curt Gowdy Media Award in the Electronic Media category at the 2013 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in September. Doucette is the first female to earn the award.
