Bills QB Josh Allen questionable vs. Vikings with elbow injury
Bills quarterback Josh Allen is officially questionable or Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET game against the Minnesota Vikings. Here’s what you need to know:
- Allen was limited in practice Friday after not practicing Wednesday and Thursday following an elbow injury he suffered in his team’s Week 9 loss to the New York Jets.
- Coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Allen was “day to day”
- The Bills didn’t call up Matt Barkley on Saturday’s NFL transactions report, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, meaning Buffalo only has two QBs available Sunday (Allen and backup Case Keenum).
Allen was limited on Friday, and did not have the same sleeve after practice as we saw on Wednesday and Thursday.
The questionable tag will keep everyone, Vikings included, guessing until the 11:30am inactives come out. https://t.co/66fECbJeyT

Following the game, Allen told reporters: “There was some slight pain, but I’ll get through it.”
The quarterback is one of the frontrunners for the MVP award and ranks third in the NFL in Expected Points Added per dropback (0.23) via TruMedia behind the Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa (0.32) and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (0.31).
As a stater, Keenum has compiled a 29-35 career record.
What they’re saying
“We believe in Case Keenum,” McDermott said Wednesday. “He’s here for a reason.”
